To start, nothing better taht bringing here the history as told by José Luis González, organizer of the KANYA!!! fest, in march 2007 when he opened the myspace place for the festival.
A menos de dos semanas de la 6ª edición del KANYA!!! empezamos una serie de entregas que van a recorrer las ediciones anteriores y los grupos que estarán presentes en la de este año.
Para empezar, nada mejor que traer la historia tal como nos la contaba José Luis González, alma y organizador del KANYA!!!, allá por marzo de 2007 cuando abría el myspace del festival.
| La idea de hacer un festival en que todas las bandas fuesen extremas ya rondaba por mi cabeza allá a finales del año 1992 y trás haber ayudado a Climent Montserrat (La Rulot) a que funcionase Fira Rock (tambien se hacía en el mismo Casal de Sant Climent y constaba de dos días de actuaciones) fuí cuando lo ví claro. Ese mismo día (viernes) actuaban Doomsday, Antropophobia, El Kaso Urkijo, Ronya, Obito y Guardian of Dreams. El sábado posterior tocaban grupos punkys-radikales que llenaron el casal, pero el viernes 350 personas disfrutaron de estas excelentes bandas y eso me hizo ver la luz! Ya había organizado alguna vez que otra, pequeños conciertos tanto para las bandas que había tocado hasta esas fechas (The Gratis, Obito y Line Of Fire, hoy día, Deathless) así que atreverme con una sala de 1.500 personas era un reto... No podía ser muy dificil pero lo tenía todo en contra... El ayuntamiento sólo me otorgaba la sala, así que el equipo de sonido y el dinero de los carteles etc tenía que salir de las entradas y colaboradores voluntarios para el cartel. Ese día tocaba Line Of Fire, Purgatory, Kultura pal Varrio y Quatreros (no eran las bandas todas extremas, pero un poco era lo que había) Ese día asistieron 250 personas y al menos se cubrió gastos. La primera edición del Kanya!!! fué esta. Sirvió de máxima experiencia. No sería hasta el año 2005 cuando me decidiese a hacer la 2ª edición. Esta vez con apoyo del ayuntamiento merced a muchos conciertos que organicé para dicha localidad sin ánimo de lucro y de todos los estilos. Así que la entrada sería como hasta hoy gratuita y se pudo disfrutar de las bandas Avulsed, Vidres a la Sang, Death Silence y The Bleeding Sun. Asistieron 450 personas (impensable para mí) y me animé a seguir con la siguiente edición. Esta fué en el 2006 (siempre en febrero) y ya lo alargué a 8 bandas: Baalphegor, Golgotha, Voice Of Hate, Df16, Moonloop, Moksha, Carnaca y Deathless. Durante la noche pasó por la sala aproximadamente unas 800 personas (no todas a la vez, ya que es un festival que se entra y se sale a gusto del personal y no son los mismos los que ven a la primera banda que por ejemplo a las últimas). En sí trato de que bandas que tienen tablas y muchos bolos en sus espaldas tengan la oportunidad de mostrar su música en la provincia de Barcelona con calidad de sonido, escenario y en el caso positivo delante de bastante público. Hasta ahora esta oportunidad la han tenido sólamente las bandas nacionales (ya que han venido desde Madrid, Valencia, Mallorca y desde todos los puntos cardinales de Catalunya) pero ahora tambien en esta 4ª edición se le brindará a una banda italiana de mostrarnos sus inquietudes musicales (cosa que en una situación normal no podrían haber costeado, ya que no está dentro de una gran discográfica con grandes medios). El caso es que hay muchas bandas que tienen un potencial increible pero no pueden llegar a las masas... Ahi est.. el Kanya!!! para dejar su firma musical! En fin. Esta es hasta ahora la historia del Kanya!!! A partir de ahora ya la podras seguir en esta web. Sereis siempre bien recibidos en nuestra casa." The first edition of the Kanya!!! was this one. It gave us a maximum of experience. It wasn't until 2005 when I decided to make the second edition. This time with the support of the town council because the big number of concert I organized to the town for free and covering all the music styles. Then, the attendance will be free like until today and we enjoyed the bands Avulsed, Vidres a la Sang, Death Silence and The Bleeding Sun. They attended 450 people (incredible for me) and I made up my mind to go on with the next edition. The next was in 2006 (always February) and we went to 8 bands: Baalphegor, Golgotha, Voice Of Hate, Df16, Moonloop, Moksha, Carnaca and Deathless. There were 800 people attending the festival (not all at the same time because is a festival were you can go in and go out as you please and there's not the same people seeing all the bands). I try to bring the opportunity to bands with a good history to show their music in Barcelona with good sound quality, stage and in front of much people in the best case. Until now that opportunity has been only for Spanish bands (they came from Madrid, Valencia, Mallorca and all the cardinal point of Catalonia) but now in the 4th edition an Italian band will have the opportunity of showing their music (something very difficult in the normal situations because they aren't in a big discography company). The point is there are lots of bands with an incredible potential that can't reach the massive public... The is .. Kanya!!! to show their music signature! That's the history of the Kanya!!!
