| Esta es la sexta edición del KANYA!!!, y la quinta en años consecutivos. Imagino que te sentirás muy satisfecho de haber conseguido que KANYA!!! se mantenga y crezca todo este tiempo... Bueno... La verdad es que después de la edición pasada donde todo fueron cambios para peor, tuve muchas dudas... De hecho, el cartel que se ha logrado es para mí milagroso con el presupuesto que se cuenta... No las tenía todas conmigo. Pero una vez hecho todo, a ver cómo va esta edición y a disfrutar. Lo cierto es que en líneas generales, tengo muchos motivos por lo que estar muy orgulloso de Kanya!!! Fest. |  | You face the 6th edition of KANYA!!! extreme metal festival, the 5th every year. I guess you will feel very satisfied to reach KANYA!!! stays alive and growing along the years... Well... The truth is I have had lots of doubts after the last edition because the changes we had, changes in a bad sense… In fact, the lineup we have reached is a miracle with the budget we have... I was not really optimistic. But, once we have the job done, we must wait for the results of this edition and enjoy. The reality is, from a global point of view, I have lots of reasons to be really proud if the Kanya!!! Fest. |
| En estas seis ediciones imagino que ha habido momentos buenos y momentos horrorosos. ¿Cuál ha sido el mejor y el peor momento para ti? El mejor siempre es cuando se acaba una edición y ves que todo ha ido sobre ruedas en todos los aspectos. El peor y como decía anteriormente, el año pasado que, pese a que todo fue perfecto tanto las bandas como el sonido, organización etc etc, no hubo mucha asistencia (250 personas, que para este evento no es nada en comparación con años anteriores) por mil motivos... |  | In these six editions they should have been good and bad moments. ¿What has been the best one and what has been the worst? The best one is always when the edition ends and you see everything has gone fine in every aspect. The worst, as I told you before, last year when, even it everything was perfect, the band, the sound, the organization and so on there was not so much audience (250 people, something poor for an event like that if you compare with precious editions) for several reasons... |
| En la organización de este año sois el mismo equipo de las anteriores o habéis tenido cambios? Bueno... Realmente, no hay un equipo en concreto... Sólo amigos que me echan una mano para unas cosas y otras además de modo desinteresado (como yo) Entonces como es algo que no es una obligación para nadie, pues cada año me ayuda uno, vuelve otro, viene uno nuevo... Es lo que hay :-) |  | Do you have the same team in this edition tan in the previous ones? Well... In fact, there’s not a specific team… Only friends helping for free (as I do) in one thing or another. Then, as it’s not an obligation for nobody, every year therr’s someone helping, somebody comes back, new people come… It’s what we have :-) |
| En cuanto a patrocinadores, parece que se mantienen y amplían. ¿Está resultando fácil mantenerlos? Los patrocinadores realmente son entidades más bien, y me ayudan a la difusión del festival, a montar stands de música, ropa, libros, etc... No es aquello de sponsors que te sueltan pasta. Aunque realmente, si me ayudan a promocionar el festival desde sus posibilidades, es la mejor ayuda que puedas tener, incluso mejor que la económica. |  | Let’s talk about the sponsors. It seems you keep the most and you get more in addition. ¿It’s an easy work to keep them linked to the KANYA!!! festival? The sponsors they are mostly organizations that help in the festival promotion, building music stands, clothes stands, book stand and so on... We have not sponsors investing money. | ¿Se amplía el número de stands este año en KANYA!!!? Respuesta: Si, por suerte. Le da vida al festival. Entre otros y por primera vez, tendremos un stand de libros de la editorial Quarentena Ediciones que, entre otras tiradas, llevan Pack de Só, y libros biográficos de Judas Priest, etc. |  | ¿There will be more stands this year in KANYA!!!? Yes, fortunately. This gives life to the festival. This year we will have a book stand of Quarentena Ediciones who will offer Pack de Só and biographies: Judas Priest and others. |
| En la edición de este año repiten Avulsed (2005) y Setge (2007) ¿había demanda por tenerlos otra vez en KANYA!!!? Bueno, no es el motivo. La verdad es que Kanya!!! siempre apuesta por las bandas nacionales, y bandas hay muchas y de muy buena calidad, pero también para organizar un festival tengo que contar que las bandas que vienen también traigan público porque si no pasaría como la edición anterior que, pese a que eran todas bandas de gran nivel en todos los sentidos, y profesionales como ellos solos, no tenían el suficiente tirón publicitario para poder traer tanta gente al festival cómo para cubrir gastos de bandas, equipos de sonido, etc etc. Y realmente, si Avulsed vuelve a tocar es, entre otras cosas, porque es una de las únicas bandas en este país que cubre esas expectativas, amén de que los conozco de hace muchos años y hay ese rollo. Respecto a Setge en la formación que tocará este año hay dos personas nuevas respecto a la otra vez, y presentamos (porque también toco) nuestro trabajo grabado. Esto quiere decir que a partir de ahora, las bandas que han pasado por otras ediciones, con toda seguridad repetirán más de una, para poder cubrir las expectativas y dar también oportunidad a otras bandas de increíbles potenciales, pero no tan conocidas |  | This year we will enjoy again with Avulsed (2005) and Setge (2007) ¿Did you felt demand to get them back again in KANYA!!!? Well, that’s not the main reason. Kanya!!! Is always betting for Spanish band; bands we have many and with really good quality; but, at the same time, to build a lineup for a festival I must think in band sable to attract public because if not there will be as le last edition where, even if the bands where really good in all the senses and good professionals, there didn’t had the enough call to bring enough people to the festival to cover the expenses: bands, sound equipment and so on. The main reason Avulsed comes back to play at the festival is they are one of the few bands able to cover these expectations. Of course, I know them from a lot of years and there is a really good feeling with them. Related with Setge, the band that will play this year has two new people from the first time and we will present (because I’m a member of Setge) our recorded job. This means the bands that were in previous editions, for sure they will repeat in order to cover the expectations and also we will give opportunities to other bands not so known but with amazing potential. |
| Imagino que poder traer a NECRONOMICON ha sido una alegría. ¿Esperas que ayude a promocionar el festival? Fue una sorpresa, y una gran alegría. También es una gran apuesta, y conlleva sus riesgos, claro está. Por supuesto que nos promocionará. |  | I guess having NECRONOMICON in this edition should make you really. ¿Do you think it will help to spread and promote the festival? It was a surprise and I felt really happy. Also is a big bet and it has its risks, of course. But for sure this will promote us. |
| Háblanos un poco del KANYA!!! tribute & cover del próximo 31 de enero en La Capsa. ¿Lo organizáis vosotros también? Si. Es un buen rollo que tengo con los dirigentes de La Capsa, y prácticamente es el primer Kanya!!! no extremo que organizo. Estamos muy entusiasmados con este cartel, ya que es la manera de ver a tus bandas preferidas de modo más directo. Os aseguro que las vi a todas las bandas, y que clavan a las bandas originales, palabra. |  | Let’s talk about the KANYA!!! tribute & cover that will take place the next 31 of January at La Capsa. ¿Do you organize also that festival? Yes. I have a good relation with the La Capsa managers. In fact, this is the first non-extreme Kanya!!! I will organize. We are really excited with that lineup, because it’s the way you can see your favorite bands in a direct way. I would say I’ve seen all that bands and they match the original ones, believe me. |
| ¿Trabajas en más proyectos de festivales o conciertos? Durante el año voy haciendo conciertos en otras salas, provincias ó localidades. El caso es, por ejemplo, que si monto algo en Mephisto por ejemplo pues se llama Kanya!!! a Mephisto y así siempre... Se aprovecha la coyuntura :-) |  | ¿Do you work in more festival projects? Yes, I make live concerts along the year in different places, regions or cities. The point is, when I organize something at, for instance, Mephisto, it’s called KANYA!! at Mephisto and so on… We try to use all opportunities :-) |
| ¿Tendremos KANYA!!! en 2010? Si no voy a la cárcel en 2009, si. De hecho, ya hay bandas que al día siguiente del festival de 2009, estarán confirmadas para la siguiente edición. |  | ¿There will be KANYA!!! 2010? Yes, if I don’t go to jail this 2009. | ¿Cómo ves el panorama metalero en Barcelona? ¿Qué piensas de eso que se oye de que una "New wave" aquí? Ahora mismo hay una barbaridad de bandas, y con un nivel extremo... Diría que sí, que se puede hablar de una New Wave...Supongo que de aquí a unos años, se verá aun más claro. |  | ¿What do you think about the metal scene in Barcelona? ¿What do you think about that idea there’s a “new wave” growing here? At that time, there’s a lot of bands with a extreme level… I think, yes, we can talk about a New Wave… I guess in some years this will be more clear. |
